July 2010:

*The Autism Support Group will meet on Friday, July 30th in Education Classrooms 1 & 2 at Princetonth Community Hospital from 6pm-7pm. For more information call 304-4871812.

*The American Red Cross Bloodmobile staff will be taking blood donations in Education Classroom 3 at Princeton Community Hospital on Friday, July 30th from 10am-4pm. For more information call 304-487-7593.

*Bluefield College will host a 'Boys Basketball JV Team Camp' July 30th-31st.  For more information, visit bluefield.edu/summercamps or bluefield.edu/sportscamps.

*Energy Express, is an award-winning statewide summer reading program. The program will serve more than 70 children in Wyoming County, providing two meals a day and reading-based educational activates that help children maintain their reading skills and good nutrition during the summer. High school and college students, retired persons, or anyone else with a few hours to give and the desire to help a child is encouraged to contact Chelsea Thompson at (304) 294-5252 to find out more about being an Energy Express volunteer. The program runs through Friday, July 31st, Monday-Friday 9am-12:30pm.  Location is Mullens Elementary School.

*CASE WV Head Start in Mercer and Summers County is currently accepting applications for enrollment for 2009-2010 school year. CASE is accepting preschool children ages 3 to 5. Head Start also has Pre-K classrooms available in collaboration with the local school boards. For further information, please call (304)487-5631.

August 2010:

*The Cancer Support Group will meet on Monday, August 2nd at 7pm in the Princeton Community Hospital Cancer Resource Center located on the second floor between Parkview and 2-West. For more information call 304-487-7936.

*Princeton CommunityHospital will offer childbirth classes on Tuesdays, August 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th from 6pm-8:30pm in Education Classroom 3.  The classes are FREE of charge. Please call 304-487-7283 or 304-487-7074 to register.

*Prenatal Yoga classes will be offered Wednesdays, August 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th at 7pm at the Parkview third floor atrium at Princeton Community Hospital. Talk to your OB doctor, a signed release to participate will be required. To register for these FREE classes call 304-487-7283 or 304-487-7074.

*Princeton CommunityHospital will offer a breast-feeding class Thursday, August 5th from 6:30pm-8:30pm in Education Classrooms 1& 2.  The classes are FREE of charge.  Please call 304-325-3926 for more information.


*An American Heart Association Community Heartsaver CPR class is scheduled for Wednesday, August 4th from 9am-Noon in Education Classroom 3 at Princeton Community Hospital. Cost of the class including the book is $20.00 which must be paid and the book picked up prior to class. To register call 304-498-7383 or 304-487-7074.

*There will be a 'Flag Retirement Ceremony' on Saturday, August 7th beginning at 9am at the First United Methodist Church in Princeton, WV.  The public is encouraged to attend!

*"Athens-Concord: Cleaner and Greener" is the theme for the 24th Annual Athens-Concord Town Social set for Sunday, Aug. 8th from 2pm-5pm on the front lawn of Concord University. *The Pulmonary Rehab Support Group, “Breathless But Not Hopeless”, will meet Wednesday, August 11th at 2:00 p.m. in the Princeton Community Hospital Pulmonary Rehab Department located in the ParkviewCenter.  For more information call 304-431-5067.

*An Autism Support Group will meet at Princeton Community Hospital in Classrooms 1 & 2 on Friday, August 13th and Friday, August 27th from 6pm-7pm. For more information call 304-487-1812.

*There will be a Gospel music concert on August 14th beginning at 6pm at The Promise Land in Belfast, VA featuring Mike Upright, Cross 4 Crowns, Hart Creek and The Bollingers.  The show will be hosted by The Witt Family.  Everyone is welcome!

*The Alzheimer’s Support Group will meet on Tuesday, August 17th in the Chapel at Princeton Health Care Center. For more information call 304-487-3458.

*The Princeton Community Hospital Board of Directors will meet Tuesday, August 31st at 5:30 p.m. in the hospital board room.  Dinner will be served at 5pm.


September 2010:

*Bluefield College will host an Invitational Art Show through September 9th, featuring the works of artists from the community at-large in BC's Art Gallery in Lansdell Hall, 8am-6pm, Monday through Friday.

*The Appalachian Highlands Music Association is planning their annual Fall Festival for Camp Creek State Park, Saturday, September 18th from 12pm-8pm and Sunday, September 19th from 2pm-5pm.  This includes bluegrass music performances, a pig roast and numerous vendors displaying their wares.  For more information call 304-384-9807 or 304-325-9414.
